Holiday Activities
Every year, our clients are invited to attend numerous events throughout the city. The Bernalillo County Fire Department has a Christmas party for the children every year, and as the weather allows, Santa Claus arrives in a helicopter. This is always a great thrill for the children.
The Uptown Civitan Club has provided both Easter and Christmas parties for the children and the moms for many years. On Easter, they arrange an Easter brunch and an Easter egg hunt in our spacious yard. During Christmas, the Club invites Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus (Paul and Judy Wilson) to give out presents to all children in the program. They also invite all of the single women to provide them with special treats.
Barrett House also sponsors an “Adopt-A-Family” program. This year, 30 of our families and 20 single women were sponsored and had the best Christmas ever!
The holidays are made special for all of our clients – big and small – through the generosity and thoughtfulness of so many groups. Please call us to inquire how your group can become involved.
