Provide a home-like room for a single woman or a woman and her children at the Barrett House Shelter
Barrett Foundation offers organizations, groups, families and individuals the opportunity to sponsor a room at the Barrett House Shelter as part of our “Adopt-a-Room” program.
As an Adopt-a-Room sponsor, your name will be displayed on a beautiful plaque outside the room along with the name of the room. Foundation partners and donors tour the shelter on a regular basis, so by sponsoring a room, you are showing the community and our guests that you are personally committed to providing support for women and children experiencing homelessness. The sponsorship funds that you provide, $1,200 for the year, go directly to our emergency shelter and help to offset the cost of meals, utilities, and services provided to our residents.
In addition to providing funding, your sponsorship entitles you to get personally involved with the families that stay in their room. Room sponsors get to paint and decorate their room with new bedding, window coverings or pictures. This is an amazing and unique opportunity to make the room more welcoming for the women and their children, and is a rewarding experience for the room sponsor. Adopt-a-Room Benefits
Sponsor’s name on room name plaque - Plaques with the sponsor’s name and whether or not the room is in honor or a remembrance for someone are placed outside the room to recognize your donation.
Room sponsorships are for a 1 year term. Room sponsors have the opportunity to renew their annual sponsorship before the rooms are released to the community at the end of their term.
During the holiday season, you will be invited, but not required, to sponsor the family or an individual living in your room.
You may assist with any upgrades to your room, like painting, decorating, or providing new bedding.
You will receive invitations to Barrett Foundation events throughout the year.
